• Calculating the economic impact of various possible scenarios for long-term system expansions, including the projected physical and economic outcomes for different interconnections, spot markets, and national and international contracts.
• Analyzing the suitability of different energy marketing methods for a generating plant: e.g., through contracts or in the spot market.
• Modeling short-term dispatch, with the option to include exchange limits between areas to incorporate transmission constraints into energy dispatch.
• Estimating the probability distributions of energy surpluses and their costs based on available resource forecasts, enabling future bidding.
