SimSEE is an acronym for "Electric Power System Simulator." It is an electric power system simulation platform, understood as a set of tools and models that allows for the construction of a customized simulator for each case study.
This introduction provides a general overview of the type of problem involved in the optimal operation of an electric power system and the architecture of the SimSEE platform as a tool for achieving this objective.
This is a SimSEE User Manual; therefore, a detailed description of the solution algorithms and the operation of power systems is beyond the scope of this document. This knowledge is acquired in undergraduate and graduate engineering courses and through professional practice.
This is Volume I of the "SimSEE User Manuals" series.
Chapter 1 contains a general description of the platform to familiarize the user with the terminology used.
Chapter 2 describes the procedure for installing SimSEE.
Chapter 3 is the user manual for the SimSEEEditor application, which is the most frequently used by users and provides access to almost all of the platform's functionalities.
Chapter 4 is the user manual for the SimSEESimulator application, which performs the optimization and simulation calculations.
Volume 2 details the Sources, Volume III the Actors, and Volume IV the results post-processing tool "SimRes3".
Volume 5 is the user manual for the SerialAnalysis application, which is used to create stochastic models for use in SimSEE.
Volume 6 is the user manual for the OddFace application as applied to investment optimization.
